How old do i need to be to get tattooed?In the UK, the legal minimum age for getting a tattoo is 18. You will need to provide valid photographic ID as proof of age. Please note, it is against the law to get tattooed under the age of 18, even with parental consent.

Is it safe to get a tattoo?Absolutely! When performed by a professional Tattoo artist in a clean and sterile environment, Getting a tattoo is very safe. When choosing a studio or artist ensure they adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards including the use of sterile equipment, proper hand hygiene and a clean workspace. Always follow your artist's aftercare instructions to reduce the risk of infection and promote optimal healing. If you select a reputable studio and adhere to aftercare guidelines, you can have peace of mind about your tattoo experience.

Do tattoos hurt?While discomfort is part of the tattooing process, the level of pain varies based on the tattoo's location and your personal pain tolerance. Most people find the experience manageable; otherwise, tattoos wouldn’t be as popular as they are! To help ease discomfort and anxiety, try to stay calm and focus on deep, steady breathing. Preparing for your appointment by eating a good meal, getting adequate sleep, and wearing loose, comfortable clothing can also enhance your comfort during the session.

How much does a tattoo cost?This is a great question, and we completely understand your need for clarity. The cost of a tattoo can vary significantly depending on several factors, such as the design's complexity, size, placement, and the artist's experience. Our artists generally charge either by the piece or by a day rate, so it's important to discuss these details upfront when getting a quote. At INKKPIT Tattoo Studio, pricing is tailored to each artist, and to receive a specific estimate, we recommend filling out our consultation form. One of our tattoo consultants will then provide you with a personalized quote. Regarding timelines, please note that the estimated number of sessions we provide is just that - an estimate. While we strive to be as accurate as possible with our projections and typically get it right, please keep in mind that tattoos are not an exact science. Our artists are skilled professionals, not machines, and sometimes additional time may be required, whether it’s a few extra hours or another session, to ensure the work is completed to the highest standard. If more time is needed the artist will communicate this with you directly. We hope this gives you a better understanding of how we approach pricing and timelines. Is a deposit required to book a tattoo appointment?Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This deposit is not deducted from the total cost of the tattoo the deposit covers our artists out of hours designing time enabling a fully bespoke and tailored service, A deposit helps protect the artist's time and resources while confirming your commitment to the appointment. This practice is standard across the tattoo industry. If you need to cancel or reschedule, Please do so outside of the minimum designated time frames leading up to the date of your appointment. (7 days Resident Artist) (3 days Junior Artist)

Can I see my tattoo design before the appointment?Tattoo artists typically reveal designs on the day of the appointment for several reasons. Secondly, artists have extremely busy schedules, and finalising designs beforehand can be time-consuming. By waiting until the appointment day, they can avoid unnecessary revisions. Finally, this approach helps manage client expectations, ensuring that any potential changes are discussed thoroughly in person.

Should I shave the area to be tattooed beforehand?While shaving the area can provide a clean canvas, it is best to leave this task to your tattoo artist. They will shave the area themselves to ensure it is fresh and free from irritation or stubble.

What aftercare should I follow for my new tattoo?Your tattoo artist will provide specific aftercare instructions, Dependant on the type of heal prescribed, which you should follow closely. Here are some essential do's and don'ts to keep in mind: - Do: Keep your tattoo clean with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. - Do: Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturiser to keep it hydrated. - Don’t: Expose your tattoo to direct sunlight - protect it with clothing and use SPF once fully healed. - Don’t: Pick or scratch your tattoo. - Monitor: Watch for signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, or pain. If you suspect an infection, contact your tattoo artist for guidance.

How long does it take for tattoos to heal?Tattoo healing time varies based on factors like size, location, and complexity, but most tattoos typically heal within 7 to 14 days. Initial discomfort and redness will subside after a few days, but you may experience some itching and scabbing - this is normal. Avoid picking or scratching to prevent colour loss, Scarring and uneven healing. After the initial healing phase, the skin may continue to peel for about a week as it repairs itself. All artists recommend avoiding prolonged water exposure for the first 14 days, although showers are fine. Your artist will provide tailored aftercare instructions, so be sure to follow them closely.

However, several factors can contribute to fading over time: - Sun Exposure: UV rays can fade tattoos, so it's essential to apply sunscreen to your tattoo year-round. - Skin Ageing: As you age, your skin naturally changes, which can affect your tattoo's appearance. - Location on the Body: Tattoos in areas with high friction or movement, such as the hands and feet, tend to fade faster. Is it safe to get a tattoo if I'm feeling unwell?It's generally not advisable to get a tattoo while sick. A compromised immune system can lead to a more uncomfortable experience, and you risk transmitting your illness to the artist or others in the studio. If you're feeling unwell, please contact the studio or your artist to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.

Can i request for a cover up appointment?If you’re unhappy with an existing tattoo, many artists at INKKPIT specialise in cover-ups. However, not all tattoos are suitable for cover-up work. It's essential to book a consultation with an artist to evaluate your tattoo in person or with photographic attachments on the booking/enquiry form through GET INK, We could then discuss potential designs. If your existing tattoo is too dark for a cover-up, they may suggest laser tattoo removal to lighten it for easier concealment.

How Do I Book a Tattoo Appointment?If you're ready to book your tattoo, simply click the Book Now link to access our booking platform “GET INK”. When filling out the enquiry form, please provide as much information as possible about your desired tattoo. This helps us understand your vision and needs. If you have a specific artist in mind, please mention their name in your request. If you're unsure who to choose, don’t worry! We’re here to help you find the best artist for your design and vision. Once you submit your enquiry/consultation form, our team will get in touch with you to discuss your design in more detail, including the number of sessions required and pricing. After discussing the details, we will provide you with the artist's next available date, This will come through the booking platform “GET INK” as an offered date and time for you to accept via the platform. Once this date is confirmed as suitable for you, We will require a non-refundable deposit which will automatically be requested through a secure payment method via “GET INK” to secure your appointment and design time.
